This year the Marietta Area Business Association (MABA) has big plans for 2005. We will continue to maintain the past events, promoting growth for our local businesses but are also looking to promote a new event for the Fall. We will also concentrate on our marketing efforts to promote the MABA brand in hope of attracting visitors and businesses to our area.

It was a successful year for the association. With the help of some of our members we were able to accomplish the following:

• In May, Marietta Day took place under cool conditions. This event lines the main street with vendors and local yard sale enthusiasts thus attracting many visitors to Marietta.

• The 10th annual Garden Tour in June was well received as garden enthusiasts enjoyed the sights and the beautiful sounds of local musicians.

• We promoted Marietta and it's businesses through the distribution of pens and pencils as well as through our website at www.mariettabusiness.com.

• We placed beautiful planters in the business district within the Bourgh to increase the curb appeal of our town.

• Hosted a very successful Car Cruise for Charity along with the Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Columbia.

• We hosted our second annual MABA Picnic at War Memorial Park.

• In each Marietta Traveler we inserted a calendar of events and listed all MABA business members, with their addresses, phone numbers, and website addresses if applicable.

• Our web site is up and every member is listed and may place their link on our site located at www.mariettabusiness.com. THERE IS AN ANNUAL CHARGE OF $10 TO HAVE YOUR LINK WITH YOUR LISTING. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THIS $10 WITH YOUR DUES FOR MABA. THESE ARE SEPARATE PAYMENTS! YOUR LINK WILL NOT BE ACTIVATED UNTIL YOUR $25 MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE PAID IN FULL!MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION & DUES

Membership Dues for MABA are still at an all time low of $25 per business. Please make your check for $25 payable to MABA and send to MABA along with the membership application below. MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE DUE BY FEBRUARY 28, 2005. Some new businesses may qualify for our business incentive program.

Our meetings are held at 7PM on the second Wednesday of each month, except for the months of January and August, at the MRA Gift Shop in the old bank building (enter thru the rear). Our picnic takes place in October. It would be wonderful to see you there. This year promises to be an exciting year as we band together on projects that will benefit both our businesses and the community.
